The Dream

I get up from a lazy sleep and find him lying next to me,
I crawl up to him, cuddle up and feel the warmth of the letter ‘we’,
Finally, I rise; take a shower; come back and get ready,
I look back and find a face staring at me, smiling, loving and steady.

I go to prepare the breakfast, hearing him humming in the shower,
I join the tune; serve the meal while relishing love’s power,
Two hands encompass me suddenly & a light kiss is placed on my cheek,
All my resolutions to go to the office suddenly turn numb and weak.

But well, I get ready for office, and while I am arranging for my stuff,
I find him calling for his tie, belt and purse,
I go, give him the things, rush, but he catches me by hand,
Pull me towards him and yes, this is paradise land.

Huge chunk of files and with one ear on the phone,
My day plays to an office scene of the same melanchanious tone,
Hundreds of men around, from my boss to the office clerk,
But my heart still beats for that same stupid jerk.

I go back home, take a shower and then prepare the dinner,
Thinking about the fact that my lines haven’t gone any thinner,
He turns up, I forget all and smile beamingly at him,
But I know something is wrong, the world doesn’t runs on his fancy and my whim.

He tells me that he has a major assignment to complete tonight,
I bid goodnight, go to the bedroom and switch off the light,
He comes at 3, slips inside the cover, kisses my forehead and goes to sleep,
That’s when my alarm clock buzzes; breaking the dream, beep beep beep.
